Heartstrings

When first we met her anthem bloomed

A pretty and a lonely tune

Though I had heard that song before

I never find it anymore

At our desks she speaks your name

We declared her life insane

Demented maestro that you are

Your deadly songs reach this far

This melody so deep

Is but a shallow sea

And the more that she’s played

The more that she bleeds

Minor when You’re pitiful

And major when she’s beautiful

On you play your favorite song

For so long, For so long

You will never understand

What you hold within your hands

Desperately to this you cling

Her heartstrings, Her heartstrings

Verse 2:

The lights in hallways flash in time

With the music in your mind

A playful show for all your friends

Will your medley find an end?

She dances on so haplessly

Beauty you could never see

The perfect instrument for you

Her innocence is all too true

This melody so deep

Is but a shallow sea

And the more that she’s played

The more that she bleeds

Minor when You’re pitiful

And major when she’s beautiful

On you play your favorite song

For so long, For so long

You will never understand

What you hold within your hands

Desperately to this you cling

Her heartstrings, Her heartstrings

You thought you could just walk away

That nothing would bind you to her

But then you went and played so much

That you’re entangled forever

The poor musician lost his ear

When his music reached crescendo

Now you can only harmonize

With the one you want to let go

Minor

Major

All the lies

Fall between the lines

You will

Never

Understand

What is in your hands

Minor

Major

All the lies

Fall between the lines

You will

Never

Understand

What is in your hands
