Requiem

Nathaniel Allen

11/5/2018-2/9/2022

Is it enough to say that I love you

Is it enough to do what I do

I lift up my voice and sing all your praises

But there are some days I barely mean it

I try to organize all these thoughts in my head

They all come out as one jumbled mess instead

To you that spoke the universe into existence

These words I’m saying must be so worthless

Who are you Lord

That does call me

The wind and the waves are your hands

The earth trembles under your feet

Who are you Lord

That does call me

The stars in the sky are your crown

The worlds you created your robes

And you’re greater still

Even if I understood every single language

And wrote all those words down on infinite pages

I’d never come close to capturing your heart

Or even catch a glimpse of all that you are

When all the world around me speaks of your greatness

Then I forbid for the rocks to cry out in our places

Let all creation rise to fall down on our knees

Make way for our Lord he’s the King of all Kings

You are Holy

And You are Worthy

The wind and the waves are your hands

The earth trembles under your feet

You are lovely

And You are everything

The stars in the sky are your crown

The worlds you created your robes

And you’re greater still

What can I do

Before you Lord

But fall down on my face

The heavens abound

Creation resounds

With all of your glory and might

How can you look

Upon me Lord

And see nothing that I have been

The scars on your hands

The hole in your side

Are both the result of my sin

Infinite infinities cannot contain your majesty

And all the world in front of me’s a grain of sand to you

Stars and planets all align in perfect timing you defined

When time had never crossed the mind of anyone down here

You are Holy

And You are Worthy

The wind and the waves are your hands

The earth trembles under your feet

You are lovely

And You are everything

The stars in the sky are your crown

The worlds you created your robes

And you’re greater still

What can I do

Before you Lord

But fall down on my face

The heavens abound

Creation resounds

With all of your glory and might

How can you look

Upon me Lord

And see nothing that I have been

The scars on your hands

The hole in your side

Are both the result of my sin

Infinite infinities cannot contain your majesty

And all the world in front of me’s a grain of sand to you

Stars and planets all align in perfect timing you defined

When time had never crossed the mind of anyone down here
