I’m walking slowly towards

The things that I gave up

My battle scars, my hardened heart

Mean nothing to what I’ve become

All that I have done is

Calling out to me

Daring me to jump on off the rock

And plunge into the sea

The same old rooms

The same old lies

I’m here again

Another time

Watching everything I wanted slip away

I gave my life

To all of this

I’ll die for it

While I yet live

I can’t escape the pull it has on me

Break my legs so I don’t run

And crush my lungs ‘till you’re enough

Take all inside of me

And make me what I’m meant to be

Tear my heart that I might bleed

Pour me out of everything

Hold me close and heal my life

Cause it was never my design

Between me and my fate

Shout the voices in my head

You are too far gone

To ever call for help

He’ll turn away at just the sound
